Hello! I am Elysse and I am a cloth nappy addict!
I want to do more to live a conscious and sustainable lifestyle. I chose to use reusable nappies as a first time mum and jumped in the deep end. I tried many styles and struggled to find a nappy that worked both in the early days and for a now very active toddler.
Mr 2 has skinny thighs and a condition that often involves messy moments! So, he needs something that creates a great leg seal, no matter how much he moves. I found that double leg gusset nappy covers are great at containing messes and creating a good leg seal on both skinny-legged newborns and toddlers, but I also love pocket nappies!
When I couldn’t find a pocket to suit my needs and taste I blended the two concepts together and decided to go custom made.
The double leg gusset means the pocket can contain a bulkier insert without pulling the elastic away from the legs, making it great for boosting for heavy wetters and overnight. We use reusable nappies on both our newborn and toddler day and night, and our nappies are so versatile for both situations! If the inserts are too bulky to fit inside (ie. overnight) they can be laid on top of the shell and it can likewise be used as a cover over other nappy styles (fitteds, prefolds, etc), just be sure to wash after each use as it is not wipeable. The charcoal inner helps to keep baby feeling dry.
We love natural fibres, especially bamboo; they are super-absorbent and remain soft wash after wash.
Our nappies are designed by me in New Zealand and made in China. We want to be open about this; we don’t have the ability to make the PUL fabric here and the quality and service we receive from our supplier is next level. We want to make our nappies accessible and affordable for others wanting to use cloth nappies.
